The Gift of Prayer for Mother’s Day

St. Jude with flowers

Fr. Peter

Dear Friend of St. Jude,

Mother’s Day is a special time to offer prayers and gratitude for all “mothers” who have touched our lives. It is a time to thank God for the blessing of these wonderful women and the care and love they generously share with us.

Whether your own mother is living or now rests with the Lord, you can show your love for her on Mother’s Day. I invite you to join me and our Pallottine priests and brothers in a special gift of prayer honoring your mother, grandmothers, wife, sisters, aunts and daughters on Mother’s Day, May 8.

Please join us in prayer during our special Mother’s Day services in honor of your beloved mother or another special woman, living or deceased. Simply send us her name. We will include her name in our Mother’s Day Blessing of Mothers at all of our Masses at 8:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m., and 11:30 a.m.

On Mother’s Day, I not only think of my own mother, but all the poor, marginalized and suffering mothers in the areas where we serve around the world. As a tribute to these mothers, I ask you to prayerfully open your heart to them…to mothers who watch their children waste away from hunger, AIDS or illness brought on by contaminated water, and other afflictions. Your gift today could be a gift of life tomorrow for these mothers and their children.

St. Jude with flowersI hope you will also send an offering for our ministries that serve these underprivileged mothers and their children. Your generous gift will help provide food, medicine, clean water, shelter, care for HIV orphans, education, and so much more.

Your contribution will also help us to reach out in hope to those seeking peace through our ministry at St. Jude Shrine, especially among the poor.

I look forward to receiving the name of a special woman in your life to be remembered in our Mother’s Day Blessing of Mothers services on May 8. Also, be sure to send your special intentions so that our priests and brothers can remember them in our prayers and Masses.

Please know that you can count on me to seek God’s hope and help. Know, too, that some of my most thankful prayers to God will be for  you. You are a blessing!

Wishing you the hope of St. Jude,

Fr. Peter Sticco, S.A.C.
Novena Director

P.S. Show your love for your mother, or a special woman who has touched your life, by sending her name for our Mother’s Day Blessing of Mothers on May 8. Be sure to send your special intentions along with your gift. We will remember your prayer requests in our prayers, Novenas, and Masses at our Shrine. I promise also to include your needs during a daily mass that is celebrated on the tomb of St. Jude in the Vatican.
