Emergency Appeal for St. Jude Shrine

Categories: Mission & Ministry News,News

Dear Friend of St. Jude,

I hope I can count on you for an urgent need that we have here at our Nationwide Center of St. Jude Devotions in Baltimore. Please let me know if you will help by replying to this urgent request.

As you know, our revered St. Jude Shrine is a source of prayer and comfort for those who seek our beloved patron saint’s intercession. In fact, thousands of people from the U.S. and around the world make pilgrimages to the Shrine each year. Those who can’t visit in person send their prayer requests by mail and email, which are placed at the feet of St. Jude. We offer these requests to St. Jude in our prayers, Novenas and Masses at the Shrine.

St. Jude Shrine awning repairIn recent years, the harsh eastern coastal weather has taken its toll on our beautiful Shrine. As you can see from the pictures, the exterior of our magnificent building badly needs cleaning and painting. In fact, it’s been many years since the exterior of the Shrine was last repaired.

Also, the awning that protects the walkway has been shredded from years of wind, rain and snow. This destroyed awning needs to be replaced before the bad weather sets in.

The best estimates we’ve received total $47,135, which covers all of the painting and a new, durable awning and installation. With your help, we’ll be able to meet this goal soon and have all of the work completed before winter. I humbly ask for your generous offering today.

St. Jude Shrine repairsOur sacred Shrine is a source of peace and hope for many. What’s more, it is a witness to the everlasting love of Jesus and the powerful intercession of St. Jude. Through his powerful intercession, people who are suffering receive comfort…people who feel abandoned experience love…and people tormented by illness are healed in mind and body.

Your gift today will ensure that this holy place is kept in good repair to receive visitors 365 days a year. With your help, our Shrine will continue to offer patrons the hope of St. Jude today and every day.

Please know that funds raised above our goal will support our Pallottine ministry of hope in 53 countries around the world. Your gift will help provide tangible relief to the poorest of the poor, including food, shelter, medicine, clean drinking water, and education, along with the hope and love of Jesus Christ. When you send your gift, please be sure to include your intentions. Our Pallottine priests and brothers will place your requests in the hands of St. Jude and make sure they are remembered in our prayers, Novenas and Masses.

Please know that you can count on me to seek God’s hope and help on your behalf and those you love and care about.

Wishing you the hope of St. Jude,

Fr. Peter Sticco, S.A.C.
Novena Director

P.S. I’ll watch for your reply to this urgent message and for your prayer requests. We are honored to pray for St. Jude’s intercession on your behalf in our prayers, Novenas and Masses. I promise also to include your needs in daily Mass that is celebrated on St. Jude’s tomb in the Vatican.
