A Prayer for the New Year, 2016

St. Jude's face

Dear Friend of St. Jude,

In gratitude for all you have done for our Pallottine ministries, I would like to offer you our 2016 St. Jude Shrine Calendar. Please sign our Guest Book and put “Calendar” in the comment box. The calendar highlights feast days that are important to our Catholic faith. I encourage you to use the calendar as a guide to express your heartfelt thanks to God and to ask for His help in becoming a power for good in the world.

You may use the calendar to outline things you want to accomplish in the days and months ahead. Perhaps you want to spend more time in prayer or to become more active in your community. Maybe you want to strengthen your relationship with your family or your parish. I hope you’ll include praying for our Pallottine ministries in your upcoming plans and goals.

There is so much we want to accomplish in the coming months, and I prayerfully ask you to share in our spiritual journey. My hope is to continue our good work which began in 2015, thanks to your prayers and generosity.

For example, we came to the aid of Father John Ndidi, a Pallottine priest in the Cameroon-Nigerian Region of Africa, providing him with help for the refugees. Boko Haram continues to terrorize families in this region, and Father John struggles to keep up with the desperate needs of the displaced families.

St. Jude's faceIn Rimenze, Sudan, where orphans and children are casualties of the war-torn country, our St. Paul’s Nursery School is flourishing, thanks to your past support. These fragile survivors of war rely on our help for nourishing food, school supplies and their education.

Today, I ask you to be a living sign of love and open your heart to the poor through our ministries of hope. Your offering will help our priests and brothers provide tangible relief to the poor, including food, shelter, medicine and clean water…along with the love and hope of Jesus Christ.

When your send a gift, I urge you to embrace the power of St. Jude’s miraculous intercession by sending us your prayer intentions. We will include your requests in our prayers, novenas, and Masses.

My prayer is that in 2016 you will be filled with hope and that the Lord will bless you abundantly.

Wishing you the hope of St. Jude,

Fr. Peter Sticco, S.A.C.
Novena Director

P.S. Your gift today helps support all of our ministries, particularly our St. Jude Shrine and the poor we serve in 46 countries around the world. When you send your gift, be sure to send your prayer requests so they can be remembered in the prayers and novenas at our Shrine and on the tomb of St. Jude in the Vatican.
